"Moon Girl, Grounded" is the fifteenth episode of the second season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and the thirty-first episode overall.
Synopsis[]
When Adria forbids Lunella from Moon Girl-ing, Lu must figure out how to defend the LES from a villainous crew, The Felonious Four.
Plot[]
With Adria banning Lunella from her superhero duties, the L.E.S. has fallen into turmoil. Past villains Rat King, Stiletto, Blue Streak, and Instantanegirl have all returned to making crime. Casey, who has gained a contact with newly elected Council President Brown, is running out of excuses as to why Moon Girl has not returned. Adria forces Lunella to give up her equipment while Pops has stopped talking to Mimi for hiding her past as a secret agent. Because of the changing family dynamic, Devil Dinosaur is forced to perform all superhero duties on his own, though he isn't very good at it as the villains end up getting away.
With Lunella unable to act, Mimi slyly convinces her to use another method that technically would, yet wouldn't count as heroics. Lunella gets to work building a robot duplicate dubbed "Schmoon Girl", though she has to build her in secret as Adria starts keeping an eye on her. Lunella also affects the television sets so that her mother can never find out. Adria decides to take Lunella out to the record store, just as she is using Schmoon Girl to fight the villains. While hiding away, Adria catches the robot duplicate on TV and angrily confronts it in the street, only to rip the robot arm off, much to her shock. After a stern talking to, Lunella promises to do no more heroics until she knows that she is ready.
The four aforementioned villains decide to team up to be the Felonious Four and promptly kidnap Devil and Casey. Lunella is beside herself until Pops convinces her that she needs to do this and let her mother understand that this is who she is, something he too realizes about Mimi. Despite Adria's objections, Lunella suits up and battles the villains, successfully rescuing Devil and Casey. Lunella proudly tells the L.E.S. that she will never leave them ever again. Upon returning home, Adria, still feeling guilty, soullessly refuses to acknowledge Lunella's heroics, only her school work, leaving Lunella feeling relieved, yet empty inside.

- Pops apologizes to Mimi, realizing the burden of keeping her past a secret to keep him and their family safe, and it was not fair for him to put even more pressure on her.
- Lunella finally stands up to Adria, telling her that she can’t just sit by while others are being hurt, which causes her to relent and allow her to become Moon Girl again.
- Lunella's middle name is revealed to be Latifa.
