The second and final season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur was announced on October 8, 2022, ahead of the series premiere.[2][3] It premiered on February 2, 2024 and ended on March 8, 2025 on Disney Channel.[1][4][5]
Synopsis[]
In season two, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are in their element as Super Heroes; however, as Moon Girl's Super Hero-ing intertwines more with her personal life, she must decide if the cost of keeping her identity a secret is worth the toll it takes on her family.[4]

Production[]
Rafael Chaidez took over as producer for season two, while Flynn and Clouden served as co-executive producers alongside Kondell. Kondell also served as story editor alongside Halima Lucas, the latter was also a co-producer alongside Ben Juwono, who replaced Clouden as supervising director.[12]. Moreover, production for season 2 began by February 2023[13]. On March 24, 2023, Peter Weller spoke ComicBook.com ahead of his appearance at Fan Expo Cleveland, where he revealed that he just wrapped production on Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, a gig that his friend Laurence Fishburne set him up with.[14]
Originally, "The Molecular Level" was planned to be the season finale. After Disney made the decision to move the episodes for Season 3 into Season 2, it simply became the last episode to premiere before the hiatus. Marketing and promos for the episodes starting with "Moon Girl, Grounded" were updated and refer to them as Season 2B or the second half of the season.
On October 20, 2024, Disney cancelled the series after two seasons. As such, "Shoot for the Moon" was written as a proper conclusion to the series.

Note: the statements by Steve Loter referring to Season 2 were made when Season 2 only contained 14 episodes.
- When inquired about the shortening of the first season to sixteen episodes, Steve Loter confirmed they combined some episodes and ideas that rounded to sixteen. Loter confirmed season 2 would be bigger.[15]
- Loter teased that while season 2 would be bigger, it would still funny and heartfelt, and The Beyonder would play a much bigger role in it.[16]
- When asked about three words to describe Season 2, Loter's response was "The Hot Tomatoes!".[17]
- In a tweet made on April 13, 2023, Loter stated there was no estimated release date for season 2 as of the date of the tweet, but confirmed the crew had finished a number of episodes.[18]
- Loter also went onto tease there would be new guest stars lined up for season 2.[19]
- "The Gatekeeper" was leaked after it was brought to light that the episode was being held due to its nature.
- On Disney+, both halves of the season were released simultaneously on their respective premiere dates; all episodes of both halves of the season released on Disney+ a day after the first episode of the halves aired on Disney Channel.
