"To Intervention and Beyond-er" is the eighteenth episode of the second season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and the thirty-fourth episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Devil Girl instigates a friendship intervention between Moon Girl and The Beyonder, but emotional frustrations push the trickster’s powers to fritz.

Plot[]

Lunella is happily telling Casey how all of her issues have been resolved with her family and she is fine, until Casey mentions the Beyonder, which Lunella realizes she is still mad at due to their past falling out. To make up for it, she agrees to an emergency breakfast sandwich to make herself feel better. Meanwhile on another earth, Beyonder is venting his frustrations about Moon Girl towards Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur. Devil Girl makes a plan to set up an intervention between the two in hopes of ceasing their feud. Believing that she would not be getting a breakfast sandwich, Beyonder agrees.

Upon arriving on Lunella's earth, Beyonder and Lunella both begin fighting with each other again. Despite Devil Girl and Casey's attempt to get them to talk, they refuse. Beyonder attempts to leave, but his powers start going on the fritz and begins to mess with reality, creating chaos in the streets. Casey puts together that Beyonder's powers were based on the fact that he initially had no emotions, but due to Lunella, his powers are not working. Casey and Devil Girl throw the two into therapy where Lunella admits that she is angry about Beyonder not taking responsibilities for his actions, while he in turn says that she only has him around to use him.

The sky suddenly cracks open, letting in numerous paramites that begin to attack the city. Lunella, Devil Girl, the Dinos, and Beyonder battle the invaders as Devil Girl reveals that she has a device that can erase memories. Beyonder realizes that if he uses it on himself to forget Moon Girl, his powers will work. Before he can, Moon Girl stops him, telling him that she does not want to be forgotten and embraces everything about him. As Beyonder finally makes peace, everything returns to normal as the paramites are sucked back up into the crack. Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur agree to see them again, as Beyonder and Lunella finally patch things up with one another.
